The BMW X5, which started a new era called the Sports Activity Vehicle(SAV) by its inception in 1999. Now in its 4th generation, the iconic SAV continues its legendary journey with off-road competence and outstanding long-distance qualities.
The new X5 in India was launched by the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar.
The all-new BMW X5 is available in two diesel models – BMW X5 xDrive30d Sport and BMW X5 xDrive30d xLine. The petrol variant BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport will be available later in 2019.
This generation of X5 is based on the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform. It is a modular platform that incorporates steel, aluminium, and carbon fibre, which reduces the overall weight of the vehicle substantially. And surprisingly the X5 is in 7-Seater layout for the first time.
The new enlarged one-piece hexagonal kidney grille at the front makes a macho appearance. The overall vehicle dimensions increased as compared to the previous model, However, the iconic X5 character and proportions were retained. BMW Laser Light technology with blue X-shaped elements at the front and the 3D wrap-around LED taillights that reach far into the sides gives much better visual appealing.
