The New BMW M3 CS Redefines The M Performance

M3 CS is the latest perfromance car which will be sold as limited edition model in Europe

BMW M GmbH revealed their new limited performance sedan in the form of M3 CS. This new M3 will be available as a limited-run-special edition model in Europe.

Powering the new M3 CS is a state-of-the-art 3.0-litre, M TwinPower Turbo engine delivering a mammoth 460 bhp. It rockets from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds with an electronically limited speed of 280 kmph. The top speed of this limited edition car comes as standard with M Driver’s Package. With its two mono-scroll turbochargers, charge air cooler, High Precision Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-VANOS fully variable camshaft timing, the six-cylinder in-line engine takes a clear and consistent aim at the higher echelons of performance, but is equally committed to developing significant torque from low engine speeds and achieving high levels of efficiency (fuel consumption combined: 8.5 l/100 km [34.0 mpg imp]*; CO2 emissions combined: 198 g/km*). The distinctive growl of M3 CS is a feast for the ears. A specially tuned sports exhaust with the combination of 4 tailpipes starts to play the symphony when the engine is fired up.

The new BMW M3 CS features seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic. This cutting-edge transmission has a separate oil cooler and enables both automated gear changes and manual interventions using the shift paddles on the steering wheel. It changes gears in fractions of a second with no interruption in the flow of power but employs a long seventh gear to keep revs low and minimize fuel consumption over longer motorway journeys. The suspension set up has been derived from the M3 Competition Package, as it uses lightweight forged aluminium for the construction of both front and rear axles. This enables the unsprung masses low and improves dynamics of the car. Moreover, the adaptive M suspension of the new M3 CS delivers optimised performance on both road and track. The DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system – which includes M Dynamic Mode – and the Active M Differential. The control systems for the Adaptive M suspension, DSC and Active M Differential have been modified to suit the dynamic requirements of the BMW M3 CS, as has the set-up of the electromechanical steering. The new M3 CS features light-alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres at the front and back. These semi-slick cup tyres, which are also road-legal, provide unbeatable grip and supreme lateral stability at high track speeds. The M3 CS can also be ordered with Michelin Sport road tyres.

Coming on to the interiors, this special edition car gets two-tone full leather in Silverstone/Black and Alcantara creates an exquisite ambience which shows class and sportiness of the BMW. Other additional features include Automatic Climate Control, Harman Kardon surround sound system and a fully loaded GPS Navigational system. Upfront, the cutting-edge twin LED and three-section air intakes are just the ‘M’ family design policy.

The BMW dealers in Europe has already started the booking of new M3 CS. However, the car will be limited to just 1200 units due to various production factors. The new M3 CS is also claimed to have a fuel consumption of 8.5 litres to 100km and CO2 emmision of 198 g/km.
