Toyota’s full-size Tundra pickup is getting a meaningful refresh for 2026, bringing it closer in line with Toyota’s newer SUVs and trucks like the 2024 Tacoma, Land Cruiser, and 4Runner—though it stops short of a full redesign.

What’s New in the 2026 Tundra?

While the overall look and trim levels remain the same — SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone — Toyota has added several small but important updates across several areas in the vehicle:

Engines Stay Powerful

  • Two engine options continue:
  • i-Force 3.4 L twin-turbo V6: 389 hp, 649 Nm (479 lb-ft) torque (SR variant gets 348 hp)
  • i-Force MAX hybrid: 437 hp, 790 Nm (583 lb-ft) torque
  • Hybrid is standard on TRD Pro and Capstone, optional on Limited and up

New Features and Upgrades

  • Fuel Tank: All models now come standard with the larger 32.2-gallon tank
  • Interior Upgrades:
  • Capstone trim: Gets a new Shale (light gray) textured leather
  • Limited trim: Now comes with standard leather seats (black or gray)
  • Double Cab models get rear A/C vents
  • Towing: Every Tundra now has a standard tow hitch and 7/4 pin trailer connector

Trim-Specific Additions

  • TRD Off-Road (Platinum & 1794): Now available with power-deployable running boards
  • SX Package (lower trims): Upgraded from 18-inch to 20-inch wheels
  • TRD Rally Package: Combines a 3-inch Lift Kit and Tow Tech into one powerful (and likely costly) off-road bundle

Biggest Changes on the TRD Pro

  • New 2026-exclusive paint color: “Wave Maker” – a bold light blue also on the Sequoia, 4Runner, and Tacoma TRD Pros
  • Iso Dynamic front seats: These high-tech, shock-absorbing seats from the Tacoma TRD Pro are now on the Tundra TRD Pro, likely with better space and comfort

Pricing Updates

  • Most trims see small price bumps
  • Base SR model rises by \$1,270
  • Destination charge increases to \$2,095 (from \$1,995)

Toyota isn’t overhauling the 2026 Tundra, but it’s giving it just the right mix of tech, comfort, and capability upgrades to keep it competitive. With new comfort features, standard towing tech, and the stylish new Wave Maker TRD Pro, the Tundra stays fresh without losing its tough truck DNA.
