Ultraviolette has introduced Battery Flex, a new battery-as-a-service (BaaS) program for the X-47 crossover. The initiative lowers the upfront cost of the electric motorcycle by nearly 40 percent, bringing the starting price down to ₹1.49 lakh.

The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer developed the program in partnership with Ecofy, a green-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC).

Lower Upfront Cost

Under the battery Flex model, customers can purchase the X-47 chassis while subscribing separately to the battery pack. The battery subscription starts at ₹2,499 per month and includes a five-year warranty.

This structure allows buyers to significantly reduce the initial price while spreading the battery expense across a predictable monthly payment.

At the end of the subscription period, ownership of the battery transfers to the customer at no additional cost.

Performance Mobility at a Lower Price

Ultraviolette positions the program as a way to bridge the affordability gap between electric and conventional motorcycles.

At around ₹2.5 lakh, the X- 47 previously sat close to similarly powered ICE motorcycles. With Battery Flex, the entry price drops to roughly ₹1.5 lakh, giving riders access to performance and technology at a significantly lower upfront cost.

Battery Technology at the Core

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-founder, highlighted that years of R&D have gone into developing battery packs that deliver strong performance, safety, and longevity.

Battery Flex extends this technology to customers through a flexible ownership model, allowing riders to access advanced EV technology without the full upfront cost.

Enrolments Open

Ultraviolette opened Battery Flex enrolments on March 5, 2026. The company expects the initiative to accelerate EV adoption by making high-performance electric motorcycles more financially accessible.
