Volkswagen ID.3 GTI Debuts With 326 hp and 601 km Range

Volkswagen has unveiled the all-new ID.3 GTI, the first electric model to carry the iconic GTI badge. With 326 hp and 545 Nm, it becomes the most powerful production GTI yet, while retaining the compact size and everyday usability associated with the name.

The ID.3 GTI accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and can travel up to 601 km on a charge. Pre-sales in Germany are scheduled to begin in early 2027.

GTI Performance

Power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor paired with a 79 kWh battery. The motor produces:

  • 326 hp
  • 545 Nm
  • 0-100 km/h: 5.6 seconds
  • Top speed: 200 km/h
  • Range: up to 601 km

DC fast charging at up to 183 kW can take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 29 minutes.

GTI Hardware

The ID.3 GTI gets an adaptive DCC sports chassis, progressive steering and Launch Control as standard. A new GTI driving mode brings the powertrain, steering and chassis into their sportiest settings.

Volkswagen has also added a simulated combustion-engine sound in GTI mode.

Classic GTI Styling

The electric GTI carries several familiar design cues, including a red stripe across the front, a honeycomb grille and black exterior details. Standard 20-inch Worthersee alloy wheels are another GTI-specific feature.

The colour palette includes:

  • Tornado Red
  • Moonstone Grey
  • Scale Silver
  • Grenadilla Black
  • Glacier White

GTI Interior

Inside, the ID.3 GTI gets premium sports seats with a modern interpretation of the Superclark tartan pattern, red stitching and a sports steering wheel with a red 12-o’clock marker.

The dashboard features a 12.9-inch infotainment screen alongside a larger digital cockpit.

Optional equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, massage seats, Harman Kardon audio and an augmented-reality head-up display. Vehicle-to-load capability is also available.
