Volkswagen Polo based Virtus sedan officially revealed in Brazil

Volkswagen officially revealed new Polo hatchback based Virtus sedan in Brazil. The Virtus replaces Polo sedan which is based on earlier Polo in Brazilian market. The design of Virtus is similar to Polo hatchback as the front is identical on both models. But the change start after driver door as the sedan is 4.48 m in length compared to 4.05 M of Polo. The rear get completely new tail lamp which is similar in design to other models in Volkswagen lineup.

The interior of Virtus is shared from Polo hatchback with same features also. The full digital instrument cluster, new infotainment system, steering wheel, seats are shared from Polo. But Virtus has more interior space thanks to the increased wheelbase. Initially Volkswagen is offering only 1.0 L TSI engine with 115 HP on petrol and 128 HP on enthanol. Later Volkswagen will introduce more engines.

The Virtus is also loaded with safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC),  HHC (Ramp Start Assist Control), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist system) or BAS, XDS + (electronic differential lock), BSW (Bremsscheibewischer – Automatic brake disc cleaning), and RKA + (Tire pressure monitoring). The body structure of Virtus is more strong than earlier model thanks to the use of special, high, and ultra high-strength steels with hot shaped parts. Volkswagen hasn’t announced launch date of Polo in India so we won’t see Virtus sedan any time soon in Indian soil.
