Volvo is going to launch new XC40 in India in 2018. The new XC40 was revealed earlier this year and it is the newest model in Volvo’s lineup to follow its new design philosophy. Volvo XC40 is based on SPA platform. The XC40 won’t be assembled in India and it will be a CKD model.
Volvo XC40 is going to be powered by 2.0 L Turbocharged diesel engine producing 190 PS of power and 400 NM of torque. The XC40 will also get 2.0 L Turbocharged petrol engine producing 247 HP and 350 NM of torque. Both these engines will be mated to 8 speed automatic gearbox. Volvo XC40 will be offered in three trim levels – Momentum, Inscription, and R-Design. Volvo will also offer a limited first edition model with all the bells and whistles. Volvo XC40 will compete against BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLA.
