The new Skoda Kodiaq Sportline feels like the sweet spot in the Kodiaq lineup right now. It gets the sporty styling, the upgraded tech, and most of the important features buyers actually want, without stretching all the way to the upcoming RS version.

Sportier Look, Cleaner Design

Compared to the previous Kodiaq, the new model looks more rounded and modern, although it still keeps the sharp design touches people associate with Škoda. The Sportline variant especially stands out because of its:

  • Blacked-out exterior elements
  • Better-looking alloy wheels
  • Sportier overall stance

On the road, the SUV still feels massive and has a serious presence.

Interior Feels Properly Premium

Inside is where the Sportline really shines. The cabin gets:

  • Black interior theme
  • Alcantara finishes
  • Soft-touch materials
  • Brushed aluminium detailing
  • Smart rotary control dials

The seats deserve special mention because they feel sporty while still being extremely comfortable on long drives. The infotainment system is also bright, responsive, and easy to use, even under harsh sunlight.

Skoda’s clever touches are still everywhere, too, including:

  • Dedicated screen cleaner
  • Smart storage spaces
  • Multiple cupholder layouts
  • Rear privacy blinds

How Does It Drive?

The Kodiaq Sportline uses a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 200 hp and 320 Nm torque.

Performance feels strong enough for most buyers. The SUV builds speed very easily on highways and remains stable even at higher speeds. Adaptive suspension and new ADAS features also improve the overall driving experience compared to the earlier version.

The steering feels nicely weighted at speed, and despite its size, the Kodiaq still carries that familiar driver-focused Skoda character.

The Downsides

The biggest miss continues to be the lack of ventilated seats, especially at this price point. The third-row space also feels best suited for children rather than adults.

Verdict

The Skoda Kodiaq Sportline feels like a more balanced and attainable version of the upcoming Kodiaq RS. It may not get the extra power or aggressive tuning of the RS, but for most buyers, this already delivers a genuinely premium, sporty, and comfortable SUV experience.
