Audi has confirmed that the new Audi RS 5 will launch in India. The company will bring only the sedan version to the country as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU).

Although Audi has not yet revealed an official launch timeline, the RS 5 is expected to arrive later in 2026.
Audi’s First Hybrid RS Model
The new RS 5 becomes Audi’s first hybridised RS model globally.
Power comes from a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 plug-in hybrid system, producing a combined 639 hp and 825 Nm of torque.
Audi claims the RS 5 can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The plug-in hybrid setup also offers over 80 km electric-only range using a 25.9 kWh battery pack.
Aggressive RS Styling
The RS 5 gets a much more aggressive design compared to the standard A5 with:
- Wider wheel arches
- Massive honeycomb grille
- Smoked Matrix LED headlamps
- Connected OLED tail-lamps
- Oval RS exhaust tips
Audi has widened the body by 4 cm on both sides, while standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels and RS steel brakes.
Triple-Screen Cabin
Inside, the RS 5 features a sporty all-black cabin with:
- Red accents
- Ambient lighting
- Bucket seats
The dashboard gets a triple-screen setup, including:
- 11.9-inch driver display
- 14.5-inch infotainment screen
- 10.9-inch passenger display
The steering wheel also gets dedicated RS mode buttons and boost mode activation.
Expected Price in India
The Audi RS 5 is expected to be priced at around ₹1.5 crore (ex-showroom), making it significantly more expensive than the older Audi S5 Sportback, which Audi recently removed from its India lineup.

Final Take
The new Audi RS 5 looks like a major step forward for Audi’s RS lineup. The addition of hybrid technology delivers massive power figures while improving efficiency, and the sharper design, combined with the tech-heavy cabin, should make it one of the most exciting performance sedans expected to arrive in India this year.
