BMW has introduced a new Black Package for the X3 M50 xDrive, giving the M Performance SUV a darker, more motorsport-inspired appearance. At the same time, BMW has increased the output of its 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine to 443 hp.

The new package will be available from December 2026, while the additional power will be offered on all X3 M50 xDrive models, regardless of whether the Black Package is selected.
Darker and Sportier Design
The Black Package is exclusive to the X3 M50 xDrive and adds several blacked-out elements inside and out.

- 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black alloy wheels
- High-gloss black M Sport brake callipers with monochrome M logos
- High-gloss black M logos and model badges
- Carbon-look and extensive Alcantara trim inside
The cabin also gets black Alcantara/Veganza seats with blue stitching and piping, along with M-branded headrests, CraftedClarity glass elements and an M aluminium-carbon interior trim.
More Power from The Straight-Six
The X3 M50 xDrive’s 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo straight-six now produces 443 hp, an increase of 45 hp. The engine continues to use 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The updated SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, while BMW’s rollout-based measurement brings the figure down to 4.1 seconds.
Importantly, the power increase is not part of the Black Package. Every X3 M50 xDrive gets the engine upgrade.
Updates Across the X3 Range
BMW is also making smaller changes across the wider X3 lineup from December. These include a new PVC Softskin surface ahead of the central display, revised dashboard stitching, ambient lighting for the centre-console storage area and door handles, and a redesigned glovebox opener.

M Sport and M Performance models will also receive Dark Silver entry sills with black M logos.

Final Take
The X3 M50 xDrive now combines a darker visual treatment with a 443-hp straight-six, while the wider X3 range gets smaller interior updates. The Black Package remains an appearance-focused option, with the performance increase offered separately across the M50 range.
