Honda’s luxury alternative, Acura, has announced that the U.S.-built Integra Type S will officially go on sale in Japan in the second half of 2026. Given that the brand has never officially gone on sale in Japan, this marks the first time an Acura-branded vehicle has been sold in the brand’s home country.

Production Plant

The Integra Type S is produced at Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, while its turbocharged K20C engine is built at the Anna Engine plant, also in Ohio.

Japan will receive the car in the same specification as the U.S. model, including left-hand drive.

Engine and Specifications

Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged VTEC engine that puts out 320 horsepower, paired with a short-throw six-speed manual transmission with automatic rev-matching.

A limited-slip differential, dual-axis front suspension, adaptive dampers, Brembo front brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres complete the performance-focused package.

Interior and Features

The interior features a 10.2-inch digital driver display, head-up display, heated sport seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and a 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D audio system.

Overview

Since its 2022 launch, the Integra has become a strong seller in the premium sport compact segment in the U.S., holding around 35% of retail sales in its category.
