Bajaj Auto has launched the new Bajaj Avenger 220 Street at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new variant joins the Avenger lineup as a more urban-focused alternative to the Avenger 220 Cruise, carrying a premium of just Rs 1,200.
What’s Different?
While both motorcycles share the same engine and basic underpinnings, the 220 Street gets a few key changes aimed at improving practicality and giving it a sportier look.

Key Highlights
- Alloy wheels with tubeless tyres
- New headlight design with integrated DRL
- Lower and flatter handlebar
- Smaller wind deflector instead of a tall windscreen
- Fork gaiters
- Blacked-out engine and exhaust finish
- Available in Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red
One of the biggest upgrades is the switch to tubeless tyres, making puncture repairs easier and improving everyday usability compared to the wire-spoke wheels on the 220 Cruise.
Engine Remains Unchanged
Power comes from the same 220cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that powers the Avenger 220 Cruise.
Engine Specifications
- Engine: 220cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled
- Power: 19 hp
- Torque: 17.5 Nm
- Gearbox: 5-speed manual
The approachable 737 mm seat height remains unchanged, making the motorcycle accessible to a wide range of riders.

Final Take
With alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and a cleaner blacked-out design, the new Avenger 220 Street offers a slightly more practical and modern take on Bajaj’s long-running cruiser. For just over a thousand rupees more than the Cruise, it could prove to be the more sensible choice for everyday riders looking for a relaxed, easy-going motorcycle.
