BYD Revises Prices Across EV Line-up, Launches New eMAX 7 Comfort Variant

BYD India has announced a price revision across select variants of its electric passenger vehicle range, with the updated prices coming into effect from July 1, 2026. The company has also expanded the eMAX 7 line-up with a new Comfort variant, priced from ₹27.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Prices Go Up by Up To ₹1 Lakh

The revision affects select variants of the:

  • BYD ATTO 3
  • BYD SEAL
  • BYD SEALION 7

Depending on the variant, prices have increased by ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh. However, some variants of the ATTO 3 and eMAX 7 continue at their existing prices.

According to BYD, the increase is driven by rising input costs, inflationary pressures, and continued investments in expanding its dealership network and introducing new technologies in India.

New eMAX 7 Comfort Variant

Alongside the price revision, BYD has introduced a new eMAX 7 Comfort variant.

The highlight is a larger 71.8kWh battery pack, offering customers more range while making the electric MPV more appealing for family buyers. Prices for the new variant start at ₹27.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Technology Remains a Strong Selling Point

BYD continues to build its reputation around in-house EV technology. Its passenger vehicle range features:

  • Blade Battery technology
  • Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction
  • iTAC (Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control)
  • DM-i plug-in hybrid technology

The company says these technologies improve safety, efficiency, and overall driving dynamics across its portfolio.

Growing Presence in India

BYD currently operates 48 dealerships across 40 cities in India as it continues expanding its footprint in the country. Globally, the company has sold over 16.5 million new energy vehicles, making it one of the world’s largest EV manufacturers.

Final Take

The price hike may not excite buyers, but it’s becoming a familiar story across the industry. The addition of a new eMAX 7 Comfort variant with a larger battery helps soften the blow, giving customers a little more value while BYD continues to strengthen its position in India’s growing EV market.
