Citroen Basalt X Comfort Edition launched at ₹8.75 lakh with added features

Citroen India has introduced the Basalt X Comfort Edition as part of its 108th anniversary celebrations. Priced from ₹8.75 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition commands a ₹20,000 premium over the base ‘You’ variant and brings a host of comfort and convenience upgrades through new Comfort AXS packs.

The Basalt becomes the second Citroen model to receive the Comfort Edition treatment after the Aircross.

What’s new?

The Comfort Edition is available on the You and Plus variants and focuses on enhancing the cabin experience with additional equipment.

Depending on the variant, the Comfort AXS pack adds:

• Beige leatherette seat upholstery
• 10.25-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment system
• Wireless phone charger
• JBL audio system
• Dual dashcams with predictive safety alerts
• Rear-view camera

These additions aim to make the lower variants more feature-rich without a significant price increase.

Engine options remain unchanged

Mechanically, the Basalt X Comfort Edition is identical to the standard model.

The You variant continues with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing:

• 82 hp
• 115 Nm
• 5-speed manual gearbox

The Plus variant gets the more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering:

• 110 hp
• 190 Nm with the 6-speed manual
• 205 Nm with the 6-speed automatic

Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic on the turbo-petrol version.
