Golf GTI EDITION 50 is the fastest front-wheel drive production model on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and sets its new record in the ‘Green Hell’ (here in the optionally available colour Dark Moss Green metallic).
Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 has officially become the fastest front-wheel drive production car around the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany.
Driven by Volkswagen test and development driver Benjamin Leuchter, the special anniversary model completed the famous 20.8-kilometre circuit in just 7 minutes and 44.523 seconds, defeating the previous record holder, the Honda Civic Type R (FL5) by 0.358 seconds. The Civic clocked 7:44.881 around the track in 2023.
Volkswagen says this now makes the GTI Edition 50 the fastest production front-wheel drive car ever around the Nürburgring.

In India, the standard Volkswagen Golf GTI has already received a strong response from enthusiasts, with the first batch selling out quickly after launch. However, Volkswagen has not yet confirmed whether the record-breaking GTI Edition 50 will come to India.
