More than a year after making its debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the production version of the Red Bull RB17 was revealed on January 5th 2026. Designed by legendary Formula 1 engineer Adrian Newey before he departed from Red Bull, the track-only hypercar is the purest expression of what he could create without the constraints of racing regulations.
At the heart of the RB17 is a 4.5-litre naturally aspirated Cosworth V10 that revs to an astonishing 15,000 rpm. On its own, the engine produces 1,000 hp, while a 200 hp electric motor takes the combined output to 1,200 hp.
Despite the hybrid powertrain, the RB17 weighs just 900 kg, making it one of the lightest and most extreme hypercars ever built.
While the RB17 is capable of speeds exceeding 349 km/h, Red Bull says outright speed isn’t the main focus.
Instead, the car has been engineered to generate over 1,678 kg of downforce, more than its own weight. Active suspension, a fan-assisted ground-effect system, and an advanced aerodynamic package work together to deliver Formula 1-like cornering performance.
Compared to the original concept, the production car features several important revisions, including:
The RB17 is track-only, meaning it cannot be driven on public roads or raced in any existing championship. Instead, owners will receive an exclusive driver training programme from Red Bull to help them unlock the car’s full potential.
Production is limited to 50 units worldwide, with prices starting at approximately $6.5 million (₹62,75,08,050).

The RB17 is Adrian Newey’s ultimate engineering statement. By combining a screaming naturally aspirated V10, hybrid assistance, ultra-lightweight construction and extraordinary aerodynamics, Red Bull has created a hypercar that prioritises lap times over everything else. It may never see public roads, but it showcases what happens when one of Formula 1’s greatest designers is given complete freedom.
