Hyundai Motor India has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model for the Creta Electric, significantly lowering its entry price to ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The move aims to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible by separating the cost of the battery from the vehicle, with battery rentals starting at ₹3.9 per kilometre.
Alongside the new ownership model, Hyundai has also updated the Creta Electric with a few practical feature additions based on customer feedback.
Lower Entry Price for Buyers
The biggest change is the introduction of the BaaS model, which reduces the initial purchase price while allowing customers to pay separately for battery usage through monthly rental plans.
Hyundai believes this will address one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption, the higher upfront purchase cost.
New Features Added
Apart from the new pricing model, the Creta Electric now gets a few equipment upgrades.
Key additions include:
- Battery-as-a-Service ownership option
- Starting price of ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom)

- Integrated side foot step
- 7.4kW wall box home charger on HC variants
The integrated side step makes entry and exit easier, while the larger home charger offers a more convenient charging experience.
No Mechanical Changes
Mechanically, the Creta Electric remains unchanged.
It continues to be offered with 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs, delivering an ARAI-certified range of up to 510km.

- DC fast charging (10-80% in 39 minutes)
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality

Hyundai Continues EV Push
Hyundai also highlighted its growing charging network in India. The company currently operates charging infrastructure across 183 locations, comprising 214 DC chargers and 399 charging points. Through the myHyundai app, owners can also access more than 10,000 charging points nationwide.
