The word on the wind states that the brand will partner with Chinese automaker Jetour to bring their T2 model in India.
JSW will sell the car as a JSW-badged SUV in the country, making it the third home-grown car maker from the country.
The India-bound Jetour T2 is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with electric motors.
The car is expected to launch around October–November this year, aligning with the festive Diwali season.
Priced between ₹15–20 lakh, it will compete with strong rivals such as the Mahindra Thar Roxx from Mahindra & Mahindra, the XUV 7XO, and the Tata Harrier from Tata Motors.
The car features a boxy design and is sat on a monocoque chassis.
The interior is expected to feature dual screens, ventilated seats, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof and dual-zone climate control.
Global range feature both 5 and 7-seater versions. For India, the configuration is not yet confirmed.
