Kia India Records Highest-Ever Monthly Sales in May 2026

Kia India has recorded its best-ever sales performance in May, dispatching 27,586 units across the country. That’s a healthy 23.6 percent increase over the 22,315 units sold in May 2025, highlighting strong demand for Kia’s expanding range of SUVs and MPVs.

The automaker has also had a strong start to 2026, with year-to-date sales reaching 1,39,197 units, up 14.6 percent from the same period last year.

Seltos Continues to Lead Growth

Leading the charge is the Kia Seltos, which has been consistently selling over 10,000 units a month since its latest update earlier this year. The SUV’s refreshed styling, feature-packed cabin and strong safety credentials have helped it remain one of Kia’s biggest volume drivers.

The Kia Sonet also continues to perform well, especially with more automatic variants now available across the range.

Carens Clavis, Syros and EV Push Gain Momentum

Kia says customers have also shown strong interest in newer products such as the Kia Carens Clavis, Kia Carens Clavis EV and the updated Kia Syros. These models have helped broaden Kia’s appeal by offering a mix of practicality, technology and value.

The company’s recently introduced Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme is also making EV ownership more accessible by lowering the upfront cost for buyers.

Growing Nationwide Presence

Supporting its sales growth is Kia India’s expanding retail and service network, which now includes:

  • 891 customer touchpoints
  • Presence across 402 cities
  • 130 certified pre-owned outlets

The company says the expanded network has helped improve accessibility, after-sales support and overall ownership experience across both metro and emerging markets.

Final Take

Kia’s record-breaking May sales show that its product strategy is working. With the Seltos and Sonet continuing to attract buyers and newer models steadily gaining popularity, the brand has built strong momentum in 2026. If demand remains steady, Kia could be on track for one of its strongest years yet in the Indian market.
