Kia has launched the Sorento in India, marking the brand’s entry into the premium three-row SUV segment. Prices start at ₹27.99 lakh for the diesel and ₹29.49 lakh for the hybrid, ex-showroom. The Sorento is also Kia’s first hybrid model in India.

Two powertrain options
The Kia Sorento is available with petrol-hybrid and diesel powertrains.
- 1.6-litre Turbo GDI Hybrid: 177hp and 265 Nm from the petrol engine, along with a 65 PS electric motor producing 264 Nm.
- 2.2-litre Diesel: 190hp and 442 Nm.
- The hybrid gets a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel uses an 8-speed DCT.
- Both powertrains are available with AWD.
- The SUV also gets Snow, Sand and Mud terrain modes.

Built on Kia’s global N3 platform, the Sorento measures:

The SUV is available in both six- and seven-seat configurations.

The India-spec Sorento also makes the global debut of the Kia AI Assistant with Real-Time Generative AI capabilities. It supports natural conversations, real-time information searches and selected vehicle controls.
Safety
The Sorento gets 30 Level 2+ ADAS features and Kia’s 26 Standard Safety Package. Depending on the variant, it offers up to 10 airbags.
