Land Rover Classic Unveils Colour-Changing Defender V8 Family, Adds New Double Cab Option

Land Rover Classic has revealed one of its most striking bespoke projects yet, a matching family of four remastered Classic Defender V8s finished in a unique colour-shifting Spectral Green paint.

The collection also marks the introduction of the new Defender 110 Double Cab Pick-Up, expanding the list of body styles available through Land Rover Classic’s Works Bespoke programme.

A Defender That Changes Colour

The biggest talking point is the new Spectral Green paint finish.

Depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, the paint shifts between green, purple and gold, giving each Defender a completely different appearance throughout the day.

Each vehicle spent nearly 400 hours in Land Rover Classic’s paint facility, covering everything from body preparation to final polishing.

The bespoke look is completed with:

  • Icy White roof and expedition cage
  • Diamond-turned 18-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels
  • White coachlines
  • Matching exterior badging
  • Green centre console accents

Luxury Cabin Meets Classic Charm

The interiors have been finished in premium semi-aniline Bridge of Weir Vanilla leather with green contrast stitching inspired by the exterior.

Other highlights include:

  • Leather-trimmed dashboard and seats
  • Superwool carpets
  • Defender-branded floor mats
  • Custom centre fascia panels

Land Rover says customers can personalise almost every aspect of the vehicle through its Works Bespoke programme.

New Body Styles Join the Line-Up

Alongside the familiar Defender Station Wagon and Soft Top models, Land Rover Classic has added two more body styles.

Available options now include:

  • Defender 90 Station Wagon
  • Defender 90 Soft Top
  • Defender 90 Hard Top
  • Defender 110 Station Wagon
  • Defender 110 Double Cab Pick-Up

The Double Cab Pick-Up combines five-seat practicality with the rugged appeal of the classic Defender.

Modern Tech in A Classic Package

Land Rover has also updated the Classic Defender V8 with new technology.

New features include:

  • 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay
  • Wireless Android Auto
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • DAB digital radio
  • Optional reversing camera

Under the bonnet, every Classic Defender V8 is based on an original 2012-2016 Defender and upgraded with a 399 hp V8 engine, along with specially developed performance components.

The addition of the Double Cab Pick-Up also gives enthusiasts another iconic body style to choose from.
