Skoda Peaq EV Unveiled with Up To 647km; India Launch Under Evaluation

Skoda has revealed its new flagship electric SUV, the Peaq, expanding its global EV portfolio with a full-size seven-seater positioned above the Enyaq.

The Peaq is designed to rival premium electric SUVs like the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, and Volvo EX90. More importantly for Indian buyers, Skoda is also evaluating the SUV for a possible launch in the country.

Three Variants, Up To 647km Range

The Peaq will be offered internationally in three variants, catering to different performance and range requirements.

Powertrain options:

  • Peaq 60: 63kWh battery, 204hp, RWD, 459km range
  • Peaq 90: 91kWh battery, 286hp, RWD, 647km range
  • Peaq 90x: 91kWh battery, 299hp, AWD, 613km range

The top-spec 90x is also the quickest, completing the 0-100km/h sprint in just 6.7 seconds.

Fast charging is equally impressive, with the larger battery capable of charging from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes using a 199kW DC fast charger.

Modern Design with Plenty of Space

The Peaq adopts Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design language, giving it a clean yet futuristic appearance.

Key exterior highlights include T-shaped LED lighting, a gloss-black Tech Deck front fascia, flush door handles, and aero-optimised alloy wheels measuring up to 21 inches.

Despite measuring nearly 4.9 metres long, the SUV promises impressive practicality.

Dimensions and practicality:

  • Length: 4,874mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,965mm
  • Ground clearance: 184mm
  • 299-litre boot with all seats up
  • 935-litre boot with third row folded
  • 37-litre front trunk (frunk)

Premium Cabin Packed with Technology

Inside, the Peaq gets a minimalist cabin with plenty of premium features.

Key features include:

  • 13.6-inch touchscreen
  • 10-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 16-speaker Sonos audio system
  • Dual wireless phone chargers
  • Digital key
  • Bidirectional charging
  • USB ports across all three rows
  • Optional AR head-up display

On the safety front, the SUV comes equipped with 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ADAS, Auto Park Assist, and integrated washer-equipped wipers.

India Launch on The Cards

Skoda has confirmed that the Peaq is under consideration for India.

If approved, the SUV is likely to arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), positioning it as a premium electric flagship for the brand.

Final Take

The Peaq is easily Skoda’s most ambitious electric SUV yet. It combines long-range, premium features and genuine seven-seat practicality in one package. If it makes it to India with the right specification and pricing, it could emerge as a compelling alternative to the Kia EV9 in the premium electric SUV space.
