Louis Vuitton has teamed up with California-based Porsche specialist Singer to create two one-off Porsche 911s, combining bespoke automotive design with the luxury brand’s signature craftsmanship.
Two very different 911s
The first car is a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – Classic, finished in Louis Vuitton’s signature saffron and cobalt blue colours. It gets a custom roof rack designed to carry items such as a trunk, surfboard or skis.
The second is a 911 Reimagined by Singer – Classic Turbo, a cabriolet designed with input from Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquiere. It features a white exterior with wood detailing, creating a nautical-inspired theme.
Luxury meets automotive craftsmanship
The collaboration began with a bespoke Louis Vuitton Tambour-inspired dashboard clock. The project eventually expanded to include redesigned gauges, switches, vents and other cabin components.
The Classic gets a leather-focused interior with yellow stitching and details inspired by Louis Vuitton’s luggage, including its distinctive trunk patterns. The Classic Turbo goes for a warmer combination of leather and wood, with the dashboard clock taking centre stage.
Both cars also come with specially designed luggage and accessories tailored to their respective interiors and bodywork.
Singer mechanicals
Underneath the bespoke bodywork, both cars retain Singer’s focus on lightweight engineering and driver involvement.
The Classic uses a Type 964 chassis, a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre air-cooled flat-six, six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.
The Classic Turbo is based on a Type 964 cabriolet and gets a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six, six-speed manual gearbox, selectable drive modes and rear-wheel drive.
Final Take
This is more than a luxury brand putting its logo on a car. Louis Vuitton and Singer have essentially treated the Porsche 911 as a canvas, combining Singer’s engineering with Louis Vuitton’s expertise in leather, luggage and watchmaking.
The result is two wildly different 911s that still retain the character of the original cars. And honestly, the saffron-and-blue Classic is the one that steals the show.
