Mahindra has expanded the XEV 9S line-up with a new 6-seat configuration, priced from ₹25.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The new option replaces the second-row bench with two individual captain seats and is available on all variants except the entry-level Pack One Above.

The 6-seat layout is offered with the Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above variants, costing ₹25,000 more than the equivalent 7-seat versions.
What’s new inside?
The biggest change is the second row, which now gets two individual captain seats.
- Individual armrests for second-row passengers
- Flip-up armrests to make third-row access easier
- A gap between the seats allows easier walk-through access
- More floor space for third-row occupants
- Rear AC vents retained
- Dual 65W USB charging ports continue
The extra space created between the captain seats should also make the cabin feel more premium, while improving access to the third row compared to the standard bench-seat layout.
Battery and performance
The 6-seat XEV 9S continues with the same electric powertrains.
The Pack Two Above is available with 70kWh and 79kWh battery options, while the Pack Three and Pack Three Above get the larger 79kWh battery.
All variants use a rear-mounted electric motor producing 380Nm of torque. The Pack Two Above develops 245hp, while the higher variants produce 286hp.
Mahindra claims a range of up to 600km with the 70kWh battery and 679km with the 79kWh battery.

Final Take
The new 6-seat option makes the XEV 9S a more appealing choice for buyers who prioritise second-row comfort over maximum seating capacity. With captain seats, easier third-row access and no major compromises elsewhere, it brings a more premium flavour to Mahindra’s three-row electric SUV.
