Mahindra has launched the XUV 3XO ZNG, its first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The compact SUV combines a turbocharged engine with CNG technology, aiming to offer lower running costs without compromising on performance.

Bookings open on October 20, 2026, while test drives begin on October 15. Deliveries are scheduled to commence from October 20.
Turbo Power on CNG
The XUV 3XO ZNG uses a 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine producing 109hp and 200 Nm in both petrol and CNG modes. Mahindra claims this is the highest torque among CNG passenger vehicles in India.

Key performance figures include:
- 0–60 km/h: 4.9 seconds in CNG mode
- 0–100 km/h: 11.8 seconds in CNG mode
- Certified efficiency: 24.7 km/kg
The system automatically switches to petrol when CNG runs low. A gas-leak detection system also switches the vehicle to petrol if a leak is detected.
Practical Packaging and Features
Twin CNG cylinders are positioned beneath the luggage area, preserving a flat loading floor and 270 litres of boot space.

Depending on the variant, features include:
- 26.03 cm touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster
- Skyroof and dual-zone climate control
- Wireless smartphone connectivity and Adrenox connected-car technology
- Dolby Atmos audio system
Safety Comes Standard
All variants get six airbags, Electronic Stability Control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The XUV 3XO ZNG is based on the XUV 3XO, which has received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection.
