Indian motorsport enjoyed one of its strongest weekends of the season as Kush Maini secured a podium in the FIA Formula 2 Championship at Silverstone, while elder brother Arjun Maini claimed his first DTM podium of 2026 at Germany’s Norisring circuit.

Kush Continues Strong F2 Run
Driving for ART Grand Prix, Kush qualified third for the Formula 2 Feature Race, which placed him eighth on the reverse grid for Saturday’s Sprint Race. The Bengaluru-based driver gained four places to finish fourth, narrowly missing out on a podium.

Sunday’s Feature Race proved even better.
A brilliant launch off the line saw Kush snatch the lead before Turn 1, and he maintained a strong pace throughout the opening stint. After the mandatory pit stop, he found himself locked in a fierce battle with the championship leader before eventually taking the chequered flag in third, securing his second podium finish of the season.
The result moves Kush up to sixth in the Formula 2 Drivers’ Championship, leaving him just six points shy of the top five.
Arjun Opens His 2026 Podium Account
Arjun Maini also enjoyed a breakthrough weekend in the DTM Championship.
Driving the Ford Mustang GT3, he qualified third for both races at the Norisring and converted that pace into a third-place finish in Race 1, earning his first podium of the season.
He backed it up with another solid drive in Sunday’s rain-affected Race 2. Despite carrying an additional 5kg success ballast following Saturday’s result, Arjun finished fourth after the race was interrupted by a red flag, narrowly missing a second podium.
