Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+, introducing the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model in the E-Class lineup. Priced from ₹1.45 crore (ex-showroom), the performance sedan combines AMG driving dynamics with over 100 km of electric-only range, further strengthening the brand’s ‘powertrain agnostic’ strategy for the Indian market.

Alongside the launch, Mercedes-Benz also announced a multi-year title partnership with the Indian Padel Tour for the 2026-27 season.

Prices

The AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+ is offered in two variants:

  • Performance Edition: ₹1.45 crore (ex-showroom)
  • Racing Edition: ₹1.48 crore (ex-showroom)

Bookings are now open across Mercedes-Benz dealerships, with deliveries commencing immediately.

Plug-in hybrid powertrain

The AMG E 53 Hybrid pairs a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor integrated into the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission.

Powertrain specifications:

  • Engine: 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six
  • Electric motor: 160 hp
  • Combined output: 585 hp
  • Race Start output: 612 hp
  • Combined torque: 750 Nm

The performance figures include:

  • 280 km/h with the optional AMG Driver’s Package

Battery and electric range

The sedan is equipped with a 28.6 kWh battery pack (21.2 kWh usable), enabling:

  • Over 100 km of WLTP-certified electric range
  • Electric-only driving at speeds of up to 140 km/h
  • 11 kW AC onboard charging

The battery also supports regenerative braking, with the system automatically blending energy recuperation and conventional braking.

AMG chassis and driving technology

The AMG E 53 Hybrid comes with several performance-focused technologies as standard, including:

Mercedes-Benz partners with Indian Padel Tour

Mercedes-Benz India has also become the title partner of the Indian Padel Tour for the 2026-27 season.

The championship will feature:

  • 19 tournaments
  • 11 cities
  • Five Grand Slam events

Mercedes-AMG customers will receive exclusive benefits, including priority registrations, access to padel courts, invitation-only customer events and direct entry into Grand Slam tournaments for AMG E 53 owners.
