MG Starts Production of the New Majestor SUV

MG Motor India has officially started production of the new MG Majestor at its Halol facility in Gujarat.

The SUV will replace the MG Gloster as MG’s flagship combustion-powered SUV in India.

Pre-bookings for the Majestor are now open for ₹41,000, while prices are expected to range between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Powerful Diesel Engine with 4WD

The Majestor uses the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine from the higher-spec Gloster variants.

The engine produces 215 hp and 478 Nm torque and comes paired with:

  • 8-speed automatic gearbox
  • Four-wheel-drive system with low range

The SUV also gets:

  • Multiple terrain modes
  • Three locking differentials

for improved off-road capability.

Big SUV with Premium Features

The Majestor gets a large and aggressive design with:

  • LED lighting setup
  • 19-inch alloy wheels
  • Side steps
  • Connected LED tail-lamps

Inside, the SUV features:

  • Dual 12.4-inch screens
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • JBL sound system
  • 3-zone climate control
  • Wireless chargers
  • Powered and ventilated front seats
  • Ambient lighting

MG will offer the SUV in both 6-seat and 7-seat layouts.

Safety and ADAS Features

The Majestor also gets:

  • Level 2 ADAS
  • 360-degree camera
  • Six airbags
  • Hill descent control
  • TPMS
  • Electronic parking brake

Rivals and Launch

The MG Majestor is expected to rival:

  • Toyota Fortuner
  • Jeep Meridian
  • Škoda Kodiaq

MG has not yet announced the official launch date.

Final Take

The MG Majestor looks like a significant upgrade over the Gloster, especially in terms of design, features and cabin technology. With strong diesel performance, proper 4WD hardware and a feature-loaded interior, MG seems to be targeting buyers who want a more premium alternative to the Fortuner while still retaining serious road presence and off-road capability.
