At just 11, Atiqa Mir is already making her mark in international karting. The young Indian racer has now joined JK Tyre’s driver development programme, giving her further support as she takes on some of Europe’s leading karting championships.
Mir has built a strong record across India, the Middle East and Europe. Earlier this year, she became the first Indian to score a podium in the European leg of the Champions of the Future Academy before going on to win in Greece.
JK Tyre has been involved in developing Indian motorsport talent for decades, with drivers such as Narain Karthikeyan, Karun Chandhok and Kush Maini coming through its racing and karting programmes.
Mir now becomes the latest young driver to join that development pipeline. Her journey also adds another important dimension, with JK Tyre highlighting its aim to encourage more girls to enter motorsport.
Mir’s international journey began attracting attention at a very young age. At nine, she was shortlisted for the Iron Dames Young Talents programme. She later became the first Indian and Asian racer selected for the F1 Academy’s Discover Your Drive programme.
Her current progress in European karting puts her on an increasingly visible path in international motorsport.
For JK Tyre, the partnership is about more than supporting a promising driver. Its established motorsport programme gives Mir a platform to develop her skills while competing at a higher level.
For Indian motorsport, meanwhile, her progress offers another young name to watch on the global stage.
Atiqa Mir is still only 11, but her results are already taking her beyond the usual junior-racing spotlight. With JK Tyre now backing her development, the focus shifts from potential to progress. Europe is the next test, and Mir has already shown she belongs on the grid.
