Rare Koenigsegg One:1 Could Sell for Over Rs 98 Crore at Auction

One of the world’s rarest hypercars is heading to auction, with this 2015 Koenigsegg One:1 expected to fetch between €8 million and €10 million (approximately ₹78 crore to Rs 98 crore) when it goes under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s Tegernsee auction on July 4^th.

One of Just Six Customer Cars

The One:1 occupies a special place in Koenigsegg’s history. Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it was the Swedish manufacturer’s answer to the hypercar horsepower wars of the era. However, instead of simply chasing outright power, Koenigsegg focused on achieving the perfect power-to-weight ratio.

Only six customer examples of the One:1 were built, making it one of the rarest modern hypercars ever produced.

The World’s First Megacar

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 1,360 hp. Combined with a dry weight of just 1,360 kg, the One:1 achieved a unique one-to-one power-to-weight ratio, inspiring its name.

The car also became the world’s first “Megacar” as its peak output exceeded one megawatt of power.

According to period figures, the One:1 could sprint from 0-400 km/h in around 20 seconds and was fitted with tyres certified for speeds of up to 439 km/h.

Known as the ‘JC’ Car

The example heading to auction carries chassis number 7108 and is commonly known among enthusiasts as the “JC” car. It was the third One:1 delivered to a private customer and features exposed carbon fibre and Kevlar bodywork finished with distinctive China Pink accents.

The matching interior features black leather, Alcantara upholstery, carbon-fibre bucket seats and pink contrast detailing throughout the cabin.

Low Mileage, High Value

Delivered new in Germany in April 2015, the hypercar has covered just 2,630 miles (4,232 km) and has been maintained by authorised Koenigsegg specialists throughout its life.

For collectors, the One:1 represents far more than a rare hypercar. It remains one of the most important cars in Koenigsegg’s history, helping redefine what was possible from a road-legal performance machine and paving the way for many of the technologies seen on today’s extreme hypercars.
