The Renault Duster is finally back, and while most of the attention has gone to the more powerful 160 TCe, this 100 TCe could end up being the version that makes the most sense for Indian buyers.
Powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, the Duster 100 TCe focuses on practicality, efficiency, and everyday usability rather than outright performance.
Visually, there isn’t much separating the 100 TCe from the more expensive variants.
You still get the same rugged Duster styling, muscular stance, and generous ground clearance.

Performance obviously isn’t as strong as the 160 TCe, but it never feels underpowered.
The ride quality, steering feel, and overall dynamics remain classic Duster. It feels planted, comfortable, and surprisingly driver-focused.
There is one feature that feels like a major omission.
Biggest miss: Ventilated seats
In a country like India, ventilated seats would have been far more useful than the panoramic sunroof.

The Duster 100 TCe isn’t the enthusiast’s choice in the range. That’s still the 160 TCe.
But for buyers looking for a practical family SUV, this might actually be the sweet spot. It feels comfortable, well-equipped, and easy to live with every day. The engine delivers enough performance for city and highway use, while the attractive pricing makes it one of the most compelling SUVs in its segment.
If your priorities are efficiency, comfort, and usability rather than outright speed, this is the Duster I’d recommend.
