Samsung Rolls Out Digital Car Key for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs

Galaxy Owners can Now Unlock, Lock and Start their Mahindra eSUVs with a Smartphone

Samsung has launched a noteworthy innovation for Indian drivers: Galaxy smartphone users can now use their devices as a digital car key for Mahindra’s new Electric Origin SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6. This feature, available for the first time from an Indian OEM via Samsung Wallet, allows owners to lock, unlock, and even start their vehicle straight from their phone, no more scrambling for a physical key.

Making Driving Seamless and Secure

The Digital Car Key, embedded directly in the Samsung Wallet app, uses NFC and Ultra-Wideband technologies for secure contactless access. Unlocking and starting the car can be done just by having your phone in your pocket or bag. In a modern twist, owners can also share their digital key with friends or family for a set period, managing access and even revoking it as needed, for example when lending the car out for a weekend spin.

Security is robust: If a device is lost, the Samsung Find service allows users to remotely lock the phone or delete all data, including the digital car key. Access is protected by Samsung Knox, the brand’s defence-grade security, as well as biometric or PIN-based authentication. The system works even if the phone’s battery is flat, ensuring you’re never locked out unexpectedly.

A Shared Vision for Smarter Motoring

For Mahindra, this collaboration extends the high-tech promise of its new electric SUVs. “Our Electric Origin SUVs, XEV 9e and BE 6 have captivated our customers with their advanced technology and futuristic designs. We are delighted to partner with Samsung to bring yet another first-in-class feature ,Digital Car Key via Samsung Wallet,” said Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s automotive division. This partnership underlines Mahindra’s drive to deliver not only premium but also intelligent and secure driving experiences to Indian consumers.

Samsung, meanwhile, continues its strategy of turning the smartphone into the centrepiece of connected living. With Digital Car Key rolled out for premium global brands overseas, India now joins an exclusive group where the phone truly is all you need for a smarter drive.

Convenience for Everyday Life

More than just a novelty, Samsung Wallet’s Digital Car Key is about removing one more thing from your pockets. The app already stores payment methods, identity cards, and other digital keys, now, it’s your car key as well. For Galaxy users, it means less clutter and more control, whether they’re heading out for a solo commute or giving the keys to a friend.

When and Where Is It Available?

This new feature for Mahindra’s XEV 9e and BE 6 is rolling out in India from late October 2025. While Mahindra’s Me4U app continues to offer digital key access on other phones, Samsung Wallet brings exclusive, seamless integration for Galaxy users, further enhancing the day-to-day convenience for Mahindra EV owners.
