Skoda Kodiaq RS Sells Out in Just Six Minutes in India

Skoda Auto India has announced that the newly launched Kodiaq RS has sold out within just six minutes of bookings opening.

The performance SUV was offered in a limited batch of just 50 units, and all were snapped up almost instantly, underscoring the growing demand for performance-oriented SUVs in India.

The achievement also continues the strong legacy of Skoda’s RS models in the country.

Another RS Success Story

The Kodiaq RS follows in the footsteps of the Octavia RS, which sold out in just 20 minutes when it returned to India in 2025.

This latest milestone comes as Skoda celebrates over 50 years of the RS badge and 22 years since the Octavia RS first introduced the performance sub-brand to Indian buyers.

According to Skoda Auto India Brand Director Ashish Gupta, the response reflects the strong appeal of the Kodiaq RS’s blend of performance, luxury, and everyday practicality.

Performance Grabs Attention

The Kodiaq RS is currently the quickest Skoda on sale in India.

Powertrain highlights:

  • 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine
  • 261 hp
  • 400 Nm of torque
  • 7-speed DSG gearbox
  • All-wheel drive (4×4)
  • 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds
  • Top speed of 231 km/h

The SUV also features Dynamic Sound Boost, which gives the engine note a sportier character.

Built for More Than Straight-Line Speed

Skoda has equipped the Kodiaq RS with several upgrades aimed at improving the driving experience.

Key highlights include:

  • Progressive Steering
  • Dynamic Chassis Control Plus (DCC Plus)
  • Multiple drive modes
  • Adaptive suspension

These systems are designed to deliver sharper handling while maintaining the comfort expected from a premium seven-seat SUV.

Sporty Inside and Out

The Kodiaq RS gets several design elements that set it apart from the standard model.

These include black exterior accents, gloss black grille, black roof rails, and exclusive RS styling touches.

Inside, the cabin features black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitching, adding to its sporty character.

Buyers could choose from four exterior colours:

  • Moon White
  • Magic Black
  • Velvet Red
  • Steel Grey

Final Take

Selling out 50 units in six minutes may seem like a small number, but it highlights the strong demand for performance-focused Skodas in India. The success of both the Octavia RS and now the Kodiaq RS shows that enthusiasts are still willing to pay for cars that combine everyday practicality with genuine driving excitement.
