Tata Motors Launches New Intra V40 Bi-Fuel Pickup Truck

Tata Motors has launched the all-new Tata Intra V40, further expanding its alternate-fuel commercial vehicle portfolio in India.

The new pickup is aimed at operators seeking lower running costs, higher payload capacity, and greater operational flexibility for last-mile and intra-city cargo applications.

Designed for Higher Productivity

The Intra V40 uses:

  • CNG + petrol bi-fuel technology
  • 1.2-litre engine

The powertrain produces:

  • 58 bhp
  • 106 Nm torque

Tata Motors says the pickup offers a Best-in-class payload of 1,525 kg and a 2,960 mm (9.7 ft) load body.

The vehicle also gets a 110-litre CNG tank, which is designed to support longer operating ranges while allowing operators to switch to petrol whenever required.

Built for Commercial Use

Built on Tata Motors’ existing Intra platform, the V40 features:

  • Walk-through cabin
  • Car-like driving dynamics
  • Front disc brakes
  • Hydroformed chassis

The company claims these upgrades improve:

  • Driver comfort
  • Safety
  • Vehicle stability
  • Long-term durability

Expanding Alternate Fuel Portfolio

With the launch of the Intra V40, Tata Motors now offers one of the widest alternate-fuel lineups in the small commercial vehicle segment, including:

  • Tata Ace Pro Bi-Fuel
  • Tata Ace CNG 2.0
  • Tata Intra V20 Gold
  • Tata Intra V40

The company also continues to expand its electric commercial vehicle range with the Tata Ace EV and the Tata Intra EV.

Ownership and Connectivity

The Intra V40 comes with:

  • Sampoorna Seva 2.0 support package
  • Fleet Edge telematics system

These services provide:

  • Real-time vehicle monitoring
  • Predictive maintenance alerts
  • Fleet management support

Final Take

The new Tata Intra V40 strengthens Tata Motors’ presence in the growing bi-fuel commercial vehicle space.

With its high payload capacity, large CNG tank, and flexible dual-fuel setup, the pickup is clearly targeted at fleet operators and small businesses looking to reduce operating costs without compromising on load-carrying capability.
