Ultraviolette Raises $85 Million to Expand Global EV Operations

Ultraviolette has raised $85 million (₹8,155,818,000) in a funding round led by deep-tech investors Yali Capital and TDK Ventures. Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International, also participated in the round and joins the company as an advisor.

The funding will support manufacturing expansion, next-generation EV platform development, and international growth, with Ultraviolette targeting entry into the US market in 2027.

Funding and Manufacturing Expansion

The investment follows Ultraviolette’s announcement of a new manufacturing facility with a planned annual production capacity of 500,000 units.

The company will deploy the funds towards:

  • Scaling production of the F77 and X-47 Crossover electric motorcycles.
  • Supporting upcoming products, including the Tesseract scooter and Shockwave enduro motorcycle.
  • Developing next-generation global EV platforms.
  • Expanding into the US, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Ultraviolette currently retails its products in India and 20 European countries.

Next-Generation EV Platforms

The company plans to build on its in-house expertise across battery technology, power electronics, vehicle architecture, and intelligent software.

Its battery architecture capabilities span 48V to 400V, allowing it to develop EV platforms for different vehicle segments and performance requirements.

Upcoming Products and Global Expansion

The upcoming Tesseract scooter is expected to launch early next year, bringing Ultraviolette’s technology and safety-focused approach to a wider set of riders.

The company is also targeting the US market in 2027, alongside broader expansion across Latin America and Southeast Asia.
