VinFast Opens Bookings for MPV 7 Ahead of April 15 Launch

VinFast has officially opened pre-bookings for its upcoming MPV 7, a 7-seater electric MPV aimed at the Indian family car market, the company announced during a media interaction.
The model will be launched in Delhi on April 15, with prices to be revealed on the same day. Bookings are currently open across the brand’s showroom network and online, with a token amount of ₹21,000.

“Deliveries Can Begin Immediately After Launch”

Speaking at the event, company representatives confirmed that deliveries could begin right after the official launch, depending on customer readiness and formalities.
• Vehicles are already being dispatched to dealerships
• Initial deliveries may start from April 15 itself
• Timelines will depend on booking trends and production flow

Focus on Private Buyers and Fleet Operators

VinFast clarified that the MPV 7 will target private buyers, while a separate product, Limo Green, is designed specifically for fleet operators.
• MPV 7 positioned as a family-focused premium EV
• Limo Green tailored for commercial fleet use
• Distinct identity, branding, and features for both models
The company emphasized that both vehicles will be clearly differentiated in design and purpose to avoid overlap in perception.

Expanding Network and Infrastructure

VinFast is rapidly scaling its presence in India:
• 51 showrooms currently operational
• Target of 75 showrooms by end of year
• Over 130 service workshops now, aiming for 230+

The company also plans to launch electric two-wheelers in India in the second half of the year, with a separate dealership network.

Charging and Ecosystem Push

Charging infrastructure remains central to VinFast’s India strategy.
• 300 charging stations already set up
• Partnerships with major fuel networks for expansion
• Plans to scale aggressively nationwide

The company highlighted that ecosystem development is key to accelerating EV adoption.

Learning from Early Models

Reflecting on the performance of its existing EVs, VinFast said Indian buyers are highly value-conscious.
Key learnings include:
• Buyers prioritise overall value, not just price
• Long-term ownership cost and reliability are critical
• Strong demand for warranty and service assurance
To address this, the brand is offering:
• Battery warranty up to 10 years
• Free maintenance packages
• Charging benefits and resale value assurance

MPV 7: Positioned for Practical Family Use

The MPV 7 offers Indian families a spacious and practical option.
• Large cabin and usable third row
• 60 kWh battery with claimed 500+ km range
• Tuned for Indian conditions including suspension and thermal management
The company noted that it required only minor adjustments to adapt the global model for India.
Long-Term India Play
VinFast reiterated its long-term commitment to the Indian market, backed by:
• A manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu
• Annual capacity of 50,000 units
• Plans to introduce multiple new models across segments
The brand aims to serve both domestic demand and future export opportunities.

Outlook

With the MPV 7, VinFast is entering a highly competitive but growing segment. The company is betting on a combination of value, ecosystem support, and rapid expansion to gain traction in India’s evolving EV market.
The real test begins on April 15, when pricing is revealed and customer response becomes clear.
