Tesla continues its tradition of making small, ongoing updates to its cars instead of big yearly changes. For 2026, the Model 3 and Model S both get some new features and improvements.
After the major “Highland” update in 2024, the Model 3 stays mostly the same for 2026. However, Tesla may soon add a front bumper camera and bring back a real turn signal stalk instead of steering wheel buttons—features already found in the updated Model Y. Otherwise, the Model 3 continues to lead the electric luxury compact car segment, with regular over-the-air software updates.
The Model S, now in its 15th year, gets a refresh for 2026. New Light Frost Blue paint and new 19- and 21-inch wheel designs are available. The high-performance Plaid version gets new front and rear bumpers for a sportier look, and a front bumper camera is now standard. These changes also help improve the car’s range slightly.
Inside, Tesla adds multicolor ambient lighting and makes the front seats more comfortable. The company has also improved sound insulation and active noise cancellation for a quieter ride. The chassis has been updated for better ride quality and refinement.
Tesla keeps its cars fresh with small but meaningful updates, both in hardware and software. The Model 3 and Model S for 2026 offer new features, more comfort, and the latest technology, ensuring they remain competitive in the electric car market.
