TToyota has updated the Corolla and Corolla Hybrid sedans for 2026, adding new features that make these popular cars an even better value. While the engines and exterior design remain the same, the 2026 models now offer more technology and safety.
The regular Corolla comes with a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter engine and a smooth automatic transmission. It remains fuel-efficient, getting up to 13.6 km/l in the city and 17.4 km/l on the highway. The Corolla Hybrid is even more efficient, offering up to 22.5 km/l in the city and 19.5 km/l on the highway. For extra traction, the Hybrid is also available with all-wheel drive, though this slightly lowers the fuel economy.
A major update for 2026 is the addition of a digital gauge cluster in every Corolla. The SE and LE trims (including hybrids) now have a 7-inch digital display, giving the dashboard a modern look. Higher trims, like the non-hybrid XSE and the Corolla XLE Hybrid, come with a larger 12.3-inch digital cluster that displays all key information in one place.
Toyota has also improved safety for 2026. All Corollas now include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard. These features join the existing Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system, which already includes emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, and automatic high beams.
Despite these upgrades, prices have only increased slightly. The 2026 Corolla LE starts at $23,920, just $610 more than last year. The regular Corolla is now available in LE, SE, and XSE trims, with the FX Edition discontinued. The 2026 Corolla Hybrid starts at $25,770 for the LE FWD, which is $1,010 more than before. The LE AWD version, the most affordable all-wheel-drive hybrid sedan available, starts at $27,170.
Overall, the Corolla Hybrid continues to offer excellent value, especially for drivers who want a safe, fuel-efficient, and reliable compact sedan. With these updates, Toyota keeps the Corolla a smart choice for buyers looking for the latest features without a high price tag.
