A.R. Rahman Takes Delivery of New Mahindra XEV 9e Electric SUV — Calls It His “Current Favourite”

Renowned Indian music composer and Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman has become one of the First Proud Owners of the new Mahindra XEV 9e electric SUV. He shared a photo with the car on his Instagram with the caption, “Got my current favourite Indian EV car.”

What makes this car extra special to him? Rahman personally tuned the car’s sound system, giving it a custom audio experience.

Now talking about the stylish new Electric SUV, The Mahindra XEV 9e is the electric coupe version of the popular XUV700. It is developed on Mahindra’s in-house INGLO EV platform. This SUV is the production model of the XUV.e9 concept, which was previously showcased in England. With bold styling and futuristic tech, it aims to be a game-changer in the Indian EV market.

It has a very Sporty and Futuristic design, a full width LED lighting is one of the Main attraction. Along with that, the SUV runs on 20 inch alloy wheels. In terms of the Interior, it is Tech-Loaded and has Three large digital screens stretched across the dashboard. A Harman Kardon 16-speaker sound system with Dolby Atmos is the key attraction tuned by A.R. Rahman.

The Mahindra XEV 9e is powered by a single electric motor driving the rear wheels, producing a peak output of 281.6 bhp. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. It comes with two battery pack options, 59kWh & 79kWh (which offers an ARAI-certified MIDC range of 656 km on a full charge). It also supports Fast Charging, with a 175kW DC Fast Charger, the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

The Mahindra XEV 9e starts at Rs 21.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Since its launch, the XEV 9e has received a lot of attention both in India and abroad for its design, features, and performance — and now with A.R. Rahman’s personal endorsement, its appeal has only grown stronger.
