Ather Energy has officially completed the rollout of its much-anticipated ‘Voice on Ather’ feature, bringing voice command functionality to compatible scooters across its lineup.
First unveiled at Ather Community Day 2025 as part of the AtherStack 7 update, the feature allows riders to interact with their scooters using natural language commands, similar to virtual assistants such as Siri or Google Assistant.
Powered by a large language model (LLM) designed to understand Indian accents and dialects, Voice on Ather allows riders to communicate with their scooter using conversational commands rather than predefined prompts.
Users can ask questions such as:
The system can also adjust vehicle settings through voice inputs, allowing riders to change traction control modes, adjust display brightness, and control media playback without taking their hands off the handlebars.
While the feature integrates seamlessly with the Ather Halo smart helmet, it isn’t limited to Ather’s ecosystem.
Voice on Ather also supports standard Bluetooth communication devices, including popular third-party systems from brands such as Sena and Cardo, allowing existing users to access the feature without investing in additional hardware.
According to Ather CEO Tarun Mehta, the next phase of development will make interactions two-way, allowing the scooter to proactively communicate with riders instead of simply responding to commands.
Future capabilities are expected to include:
These additions form part of Ather’s broader AtherStack 7 roadmap aimed at creating a more connected riding experience.

With Voice on Ather now rolling out to customers, Ather has taken another step towards making its scooters smarter and more intuitive. While voice assistants have become commonplace in smartphones and cars, their integration into two-wheelers remains relatively rare.
By bringing natural language controls to its scooters, Ather is continuing to push the connected mobility experience beyond traditional vehicle functions.
