Bajaj Pulsar N160 S and N160 SS Launched with 18 hp and New Tech

Bajaj Auto has expanded its Pulsar N160 range with the launch of the all-new N160 S and N160 SS. Introduced as part of Pulsar’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the new variants bring more performance, electronics and connected technology to the 160cc segment.

The Pulsar N160 S is priced at ₹1,33,511, while the N160 SS costs ₹1,42,585 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

New 165cc 4V engine

Both motorcycles get a new 165cc, 4-valve engine producing 18 hp. Bajaj claims this makes them the most powerful motorcycles in the segment.

The bikes can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 4.5 seconds, according to the company.

The new engine is paired with an Intelligent Throttle (ETB) system, which manages throttle response and enables several electronic riding features.

Four ride modes and traction control

The ETB system offers four riding modes:

  • Rain
  • Sport
  • Road
  • Off-road

The N160 SS also gets responsive traction control, which helps maintain grip across changing road conditions.

Another new feature is Crawl Technology, designed to make low-speed riding easier in traffic by allowing the motorcycle to move smoothly in higher gears without frequent clutch or gear inputs.

5-inch TFT with Google Maps

The flagship N160 SS gets a 5-inch TFT display with Google Maps mirroring.

Bajaj claims it is the first sports motorcycle in India to offer Google Maps mirroring, giving riders access to navigation directly through the instrument console.

Styling and prices

The N160 SS gets sharper graphics, coloured alloy wheels and revised ergonomics, including an improved handlebar position and seat height.

Both new variants are available in three colours:

  • Atlantic Blue
  • Pearl Metallic White
  • Brooklyn Black

The Pulsar N160 S is priced at ₹1,33,511, while the Pulsar N160 SS is priced at ₹1,42,585, both ex-showroom Delhi.

Final Take

The new N160 S and N160 SS give Bajaj’s popular 160cc motorcycle a significant technology boost. The combination of 18.5 PS, four ride modes, traction control, Crawl Technology and Google Maps mirroring makes the new variants considerably more advanced while keeping the Pulsar’s performance-focused character intact.
