Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupe Packs 544hp and 800km Range

Mercedes-AMG has expanded its GT 4-Door Coupé range with the new GT 53, bringing electric performance, long-range capability and AMG-specific technology into a four-door package.

The GT 53 will go on sale in Germany from August 13, 2026, with prices starting at €115,430 (₹1,26,99,954).

Performance and range

The GT 53 gets a dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle.

  • Power: 544hp
  • Torque: 800Nm
  • Drive: AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive
  • 0-100km/h: 3.9 seconds
  • Top speed: 230km/h
  • Top speed with AMG Driver’s Package: 250km/h
  • Battery: 106kWh
  • Claimed range: up to 809km (WLTP)

600kW fast charging

The electric AMG uses an 800-volt architecture and supports DC charging at up to 600kW.

Mercedes-AMG claims the GT 53 can add up to 534km of range in just 10 minutes, under suitable charging conditions. It can also charge using 400-volt infrastructure.

AMG character, without a petrol engine

The GT 53 gets AMGFORCE Sport+, which simulates gearshifts and reproduces the sound and character of an AMG six-cylinder engine.

The car also features:

  • AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension
  • Adaptive damping
  • Air springs
  • Rear-wheel steering
  • Multiple drive modes

Practical four-door package

Despite its performance focus, the GT 53 retains the practicality expected from a four-door grand tourer.

  • 14-inch central touchscreen
  • Optional passenger display
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Individual rear seats
  • 507-litre boot
  • 62-litre frunk

Final Take

The GT 53 is AMG’s attempt to make an electric performance car feel more familiar to enthusiasts. Its 544hp output and 3.9-second 0-100km/h time are impressive, but the claimed 809km range and 600kW charging capability could be its biggest strengths.

The simulated six-cylinder soundtrack may not replace the real thing for traditional AMG fans, but the GT 53 does bring performance, range and everyday usability together in one package.
