From Desert Dreams to Digital Fame: Railway Technician Builds Real-Life BGMI Buggy

BGMI has swept over and stole the minds of Indian Gamers. Now KRAFTON India has started a new digital storytelling project called ‘Beyond Battlegrounds’. This project shows the spirit of Indian gaming through the stories of passionate BGMI fans. One of the main stories is about Karan Kargwal, a 28-year-old railway technician from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Karan built a working, life-sized replica of the famous BGMI buggy on the roof of his small house, even though he faced many challenges.

Karan used scrap metal, old parts, an engine from his old motorcycle, welding tools, and his phone camera to build the buggy. He spent many weekends working under the hot desert sun. Karan had no formal training in engineering or design and worked full-time at Indian Railways. He used screenshots and 3D models from the game to figure out how to build the buggy. His determination, love for BGMI, and support from his family helped him finish the project.

Karan said that he used to play BGMI after work to relax and never thought the game would inspire him to build something real. He believes the buggy is more than just a vehicle; it shows that passion and purpose can make dreams come true. He thanked his family, his followers, and BGMI for helping his small-town project become a national story.

Karan shared videos of his build on Instagram, and soon over 220,000 people started following him. Most of his followers come from smaller cities and towns. Seeing the support from the community, BGMI decided to help Karan complete his buggy. This support also marked the start of the ‘Beyond Battlegrounds’ campaign, which aims to highlight creators who turn their love for gaming into real-world projects.

Saurabh Shah, Head of People Operations at KRAFTON India, said that gaming in India is now a movement led by creators from small towns. He explained that KRAFTON wants to support these gamers and help them turn their passion into real achievements. Karan’s buggy is not just a project; it is a symbol of how gaming inspires creativity and ambition in places that are often overlooked.

KRAFTON has made a short film about Karan’s journey. The film shows the hard work, emotions, and community support behind this unique gaming project. The film is now available on BGMI’s official YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages. This campaign fits with KRAFTON’s goal to build an open and supportive gaming community where everyone can succeed.

People can watch the full film on Instagram or YouTube to see how Karan turned his weekend hobby into India’s most famous BGMI buggy build.
