BMW Group India Posts Record H1 2025 Sales with 10% Growth and Leadership in Luxury EVs

BMW Group India has recorded its highest-ever car deliveries in the first half of 2025. From January to June, the company sold a total of 7,774 cars (including 7,477 BMWs and 297 MINIs), along with 2,569 motorcycles. The second quarter of the year (April–June) saw record-breaking monthly sales.

Luxury EV Leader in India: BMW Group India has remained the top luxury EV brand in the country for three years in a row. In the first half of 2025, the company sold 1,322 electric vehicles, showing a massive 234% growth compared to the previous year. The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase was the best-selling EV, followed by the BMW i7. EVs now make up 18% of BMW Group India’s total car sales.

To support EV customers, BMW introduced services like Destination Charging, Smart E-Routing, and Charging Concierge. Customers also get free Wallbox chargers and can use 24/7 fast-charging facilities at dealerships. BMW currently offers six electric cars and two electric scooters, all designed for high performance and digital features.

Growing Demand for Long Wheelbase Models: BMW’s long wheelbase sedans and SUVs have seen a 159% increase in sales, now making up 47% of all BMW car sales. This includes popular models like the BMW 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and the iX1. The BMW 5 Series was the top-selling BMW sedan during this time, with nearly 20% of the total sales.

BMW Luxury and SAV (SUV) Range: The BMW Luxury Class—which includes the BMW 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM—continues to attract luxury car buyers. The BMW X7 has crossed 5,000 deliveries in India.

BMW’s Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) grew by 17% in H1 2025. Their share of total sales increased from 56% in Q1 to 59% in Q2. The BMW X1 led sales in the compact SUV category with over 30% share, followed by the popular BMW X5.

MINI and BMW Motorrad: In H1 2025, MINI sold 297 cars. The MINI Cooper S was the best-selling model, showing a growth of over 60%. The MINI Countryman E electric also had a strong share.

BMW Motorrad sold 2,569 motorcycles. The top model was the BMW G 310 RR, especially in the small-capacity segment. In the adventure category, the BMW 900 GS / GSA and 1300 GS / GSA were most popular. The S 1000 RR led in the superbike category.

Retail.NEXT: BMW is transforming its showrooms with a new retail concept called Retail.NEXT. With an investment of INR 365.6 crores, it will be rolled out at 56 locations across 33 cities. These new showrooms will offer a modern, digital-first, luxury buying experience.

BMW Smart Finance: BMW India Financial Services is helping customers with easy and flexible finance options. The BMW Smart Finance plans offer low monthly payments, guaranteed buyback, and easy car upgrades. These offers make it more affordable and convenient for customers to own BMW and MINI vehicles.
