BMW has launched the BMW F 450 GS in India, expanding its GS lineup with a new middleweight adventure bike aimed at both road and trail use.

The motorcycle will be locally produced in India, with deliveries set to begin in June 2026. Introductory prices start at ₹4.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
Prices and Variants
The F 450 GS comes in three variants:
- Base-₹4.70 lakh
- Exclusive-₹4.90 lakh
- GS Trophy-₹5.30 lakh
The GS Trophy gets a distinct Racing Blue paint scheme, while the other variants come in Cosmic Black.
New Engine and Performance
At the heart of the bike is a newly developed twin-cylinder engine.
- 48 hp at 8,750 rpm
- 43 Nm torque at 6,750 rpm
- Six-speed gearbox
- Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless shifts
One standout feature is the Easy Ride Clutch, which allows easier low-speed riding and stop-start traffic use by reducing the chances of stalling.
BMW has also given the engine a 135-degree crankshaft, which is meant to improve smoothness while also giving the bike a distinct exhaust note.
Built for Road and Trail
The F 450 GS carries familiar GS styling, including the beak-like front and new X-shaped LED headlight.

Some highlights include:
- 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels
- Adjustable suspension
- Tubular steel frame
- 14-litre fuel tank
- 845 mm two-piece seat
BMW says the bike has been designed to work equally well on highways and rougher terrain.
Tech and Safety Features
The motorcycle gets a long list of rider aids and electronics.
- Four riding modes: Rain, Road, Enduro and Enduro Pro
- ABS Pro
- Dynamic Traction Control
- Engine Drag Torque Control
- Dynamic Brake Control
It also gets a 6.5-inch TFT display, heated grips, adjustable levers and USB-C charging.
The Enduro Pro mode is aimed at more serious off-road riding, with settings tailored for rough terrain.
Why It Matters
The F 450 GS slots below BMW’s larger GS models and opens the adventure range to more riders.
It also enters a growing middleweight adventure segment where demand has been rising, especially among riders looking for touring capability with off-road potential.
Conclusion
With the F 450 GS, BMW is bringing the GS formula into a more accessible package.
It combines a new engine, plenty of electronics and adventure-focused hardware, while keeping the focus on everyday usability as much as touring.
