All in One! BYD Opens China’s First All-Terrain Circuit

BYD has officially opened its new all-terrain circuit in Zhengzhou, one of the first in China made just for new energy vehicles (NEVs). This circuit is part of BYD’s “Technology for All” vision and is designed for track racing, professional driver training, and giving people a chance to experience NEVs in many different ways. BYD plans to open more such circuits across China.

Unique Driving Experiences

The BYD Zhengzhou All-terrain Circuit is different from regular tracks. It has eight special zones, including:

  • Indoor Sand Dune (with a 29.6-meter drop and 28-degree slope, certified by Guinness World Records as the largest and highest for car testing)
  • Low-Friction Ring (for drifting on a surface like ice)
  • Kick-Plate (simulates icy roads and loss of control)
  • Wading Pool (for water-crossing, designed for the YANGWANG U8)
  • Dynamic Paddock (for slalom, moose test, and automated parking)
  • Race Track (1,758 meters long, with nine curves and a 550-meter straight)
  • Off-Road Park (27 different off-road scenarios for all skill levels)
  • Camping Area

Cutting-Edge Technology and Safety

The circuit lets visitors try out BYD’s latest safety and driving technologies. For example, the Kick-Plate helps drivers practice handling emergencies, while the Low Friction Circle lets anyone try drifting with BYD’s advanced electronic controls. The water crossing pool allows people to watch the YANGWANG U8 drive underwater, showing off BYD’s e4 platform.

For Everyone—From Racing to Off-Roading

The circuit is not just for professionals. Even beginners and regular urban SUVs can try off-roading on easier tracks. The dynamic paddock and race track let drivers test acceleration, steering, and smart features.

More Circuits Coming Soon

BYD will soon open more circuits in Hefei and Shaoxing. The Shaoxing off-road area will cover 2,000 acres at 500 meters altitude.

Promoting NEV Culture

BYD and the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China (CAMF) have launched the “New Track Scheme” to bring racing culture to more people, aiming to reach 1 million participants and train 100 professional racers. CAMF’s president, Guojun Zhan, said these circuits will help make NEV racing more professional and change China’s car culture.

A New Era for NEV Driving

BYD’s all-terrain circuits are more than just tracks—they are a new way for people to experience NEVs, try out new technologies, and enjoy driving in all kinds of conditions.
