Ducati Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP Launched in India at ₹16.53 Lakh

Ducati has launched the all-new Hypermotard V2 and Hypermotard V2 SP in India, introducing a new 890cc engine, a lighter chassis and updated electronics. Prices start at ₹16.53 lakh (ex-showroom), with bookings now open across Ducati dealerships.

The fourth-generation Hypermotard retains its signature double-wing fuel tank, compact front end and twin under-seat exhausts, while adopting an entirely new technical platform.

New 890cc V2 Engine

Both variants use Ducati’s new 890cc V2 engine, which weighs 54.4kg and produces 120hp at 10,750rpm and 94Nm at 8,250rpm. The IVT variable intake valve timing system is designed to deliver a responsive power delivery, with 70% of peak torque available at 3,000rpm.

Key highlights include:

  • Six-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift 2.0
  • Six-axis IMU with cornering ABS and Slide by Brake functionality
  • Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control and Engine Brake Control
  • Five-inch full-TFT dashboard with Road, Road Pro and Track information modes

A racing exhaust can increase power by 3.6hp while reducing weight by a further 4kg.

Lighter Chassis and Updated Hardware

The new monocoque frame uses the engine as a structural element and is paired with a double-sided aluminium swingarm. Ducati claims a weight reduction of 13kg for the standard V2 and 14kg for the SP compared to the previous generation.

The Hypermotard V2 SP gets fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, Brembo M50 brake calipers and forged aluminium wheels. Ducati Power Launch and a Pit Limiter are also standard.

Prices and Variants

  • Hypermotard V2: ₹16.53 lakh
  • Hypermotard V2 SP: ₹20.78 lakh

Both prices are ex-showroom, India. The standard model is available in Ducati Red, while the SP gets a dedicated livery. Their kerb weights, measured without fuel, stand at 180kg and 177kg, respectively.

Final Take

The Hypermotard V2 range puts the focus on agility, responsive performance and rider control, with the new engine and monocoque chassis forming the core of the update. The standard model delivers the essential package, while the SP adds premium suspension, lighter wheels and launch-control hardware for riders seeking a more track-oriented setup.
