Goodies Packed! Checkout the Major Feature Highlights of Upcoming Tiguan R-Line SUV

Volkswagen India is gearing-up for expanding it’s portfolio in the country. A list of cars have been stated to be launched soon, the Tiguan R Line is one of them. The German brand have also opened it’s booking. Now Volkswagen has revealed the feature list of the upcoming Tiguan R Line, ahead of the SUV’s India launch this month.

Expected to be come with a price tag around Rs 50 lakh ex-showroom, the Tiguan R Line will serve as Volkswagen’s flagship SUV in the Indian market. VW is looking forward at India’s response on the Tiguan R Line before launching new products.

Now coming to the Design aspects of the SUV, up front, the India-spec Tiguan R Line gets sleek connected LED headlights, a huge air dam with a mesh pattern and silver lip. The side profile of the SUV features 19 -inch ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels, large wing mirrors, and distinct creases and lines above the fenders. Coming to the rear profile, the Tiguan R Line is equipped with a big LED lightbar with a smoked effect, a roof spoiler and silver-anodised roof rails up on the top.

Talking about interior, the Tiguan R Line comes equipped with tri-zone climate control, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 30-colour ambient lighting, illuminated door handle recesses, wireless charging for up to two phones, brushed stainless steel pedals, a 10.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof etc. The sports seats placed at the front have R Line branding, massage functions and adjustable lumbar support.

Safety of the SUV is taken care of with 9 airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite which offers 21 functions, hill start assist, hill descent control, etc. The Tiguan R Line also has a 5 -star NCAP crash safety rating which explains the build quality.

Under the hood, the Tiguan R Line comes with a 2.0 -litre turbo-petrol engine churning out 204 hp and 320 Nm. This output is routed to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup allows a claimed 0-100 kmph time of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 229 kmph.

For added convenience, Volkswagen’s Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control will also be included in the Tiguan R Line’s feature list. This program automatically searches for suitable parking spaces at speed of up to 40 kmph and can park the SUV all by itself.
