Honda ZR-V Hybrid SUV Debuts in India, Deliveries Begin in July 2026

Honda Cars India has officially unveiled the new Honda ZR-V in India ahead of its launch in the coming weeks. The ZR-V becomes Honda’s new flagship SUV in the country and also marks Honda’s first hybrid SUV for India.

Bookings for the SUV are now open, with deliveries beginning in July 2026.

The ZR-V will arrive in India as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU), which means pricing is expected to remain on the premium side.

Positioned Above the Elevate

The ZR-V sits above the Honda Elevate in Honda’s India lineup and measures:

  • 4,657 mm long
  • 1,840 mm wide
  • 1,621 mm tall

making it closer in size to premium SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron.

The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and will be available in:

  • White
  • Grey
  • Two shades of black

Strong Hybrid Powertrain

Powering the ZR-V is a 2.0-litre petrol engine, a strong hybrid system producing a combined 181 hp and 315 Nm torque.

Honda claims:

  • 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds
  • Top speed of 173 km/h

More importantly, the hybrid setup delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.8 km/l, making it one of the most fuel-efficient petrol SUVs in its segment.

Premium Cabin and Features

Inside, the ZR-V gets:

  • Black leather upholstery
  • 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 10-inch digital instrument cluster
  • 12-speaker Bose sound system
  • Powered front seats
  • Dual-zone climate control

The SUV also comes loaded with safety tech, including:

  • Eight airbags
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keep assist
  • Autonomous emergency braking
  • Driver attention monitor

Expected Price

Honda is expected to announce prices in June 2026, with estimates suggesting a starting price of around ₹ 45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Final Take

The Honda ZR-V finally gives Honda a proper premium hybrid SUV for India. While it may end up being expensive because of the CBU route, the combination of Honda’s strong hybrid technology, premium features and SUV practicality could make the ZR-V an interesting alternative to larger European SUVs in the segment.
