Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Chair Euisun Chung, along with his father Mong-Koo Chung and grandfather Ju-yung Chung, have received the Automotive News Centennial Award. This award recognizes their major impact on the global automotive industry.
The Chung family has led Hyundai Motor Group for three generations. Under Euisun Chung’s leadership since 2020, Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have become top global brands. Euisun Chung has pushed the company to focus on innovation, customer needs, and sustainability, making Hyundai Motor Group one of the world’s top three automakers.
Euisun Chung said he is honored to receive the award and believes that innovation should improve people’s lives. He credits the company’s employees, partners, and customers for inspiring Hyundai to keep moving forward.
Euisun Chung has led Hyundai Motor Group to invest in electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cells, robotics, autonomous driving, and advanced air mobility. Hyundai and Kia have won 12 World Car Awards, including four straight World Car of the Year titles since 2022. The company is known for its quality, technology, and customer-first approach.
KC Crain, President and CEO of Crain Communications, said the Chung family’s vision and commitment have made Hyundai a global powerhouse, leading in sales, technology, and style.
